"Board Maker Files On this website you will find books that have been adapted using the Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) and the Mayer-Johnson program BoardMaker (c). The Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) are typically used by individuals who have difficulty being understood verbally or have severe difficulty with reading and writing. If you have your own copy of the book, we have files that allow you to print the symbols that we used to adapt the books. These PCS can be cut out and glued into your own book so that you can read the adapted book again and again to your child or students."

"Picture Communication Symbol Apps, like Flash Cards, Word Scramble, Match & Memory and Bingo, help different people meet different needs. See how they help students learn vocabulary, language, articulation, cognitive and listening skills and more. Ideal for students with Autism, and those learning new symbols for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). "

PrAACtical AAC | Another Year of Core Vocab - 0 views

  •
"Today we're back with the 2nd Year of Core Words, this time with 16 words/month. If you follow along, you'll have covered 192 new core words by the end. Once again, we created 12 grids of core vocabulary words - one for each month of the year. Each grid has 16 cells labeled with core words. Plug in the AAC symbols that your client uses (e.g., PCS, SmartySymbols, Unity, Pixons, etc.), print, laminate, and keep them handy. Feel free to adapt the grids with other core words, if you wish, or do anything else that makes them more useful in your work"
